If you’ve worked with me or seen any of my social media posts, I’m sure it’s no secret that I love dogs. Boxers in particular. My husband and I have welcomed 3 of these wonderful goofballs into our lives over the past 20 years, and have treasured each one. Each of these family members came to us through Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue. This organization has dedicated itself to finding the perfect Boxer for any forever home that needs one. I love these folks.
I’ve been so fortunate in my life. I wanted a chance to share the blessings. I decided to pick a charity to support that would reflect me and that’s where MTBR comes in. I truly struggle to express the amount of love and joy these dogs have brought to my life. It’s amazing. Especially considering their less than ideal origins remind me of my own journey from office worker to massage therapist. Talk about a positive life transformation!
The parallels spoke to me. This was how I could make a difference. I could make sure these dogs have the best lives possible. So I contacted MTBR and asked how I could help, and we came up with a plan. I would offer discounts in exchange for donations. Not money, though any charitable organization can use a little more cash. It turns out that the biggest needs were care items and human contact.
So here’s what we worked out. In exchange for a donation of one or more of the items listed below, you can purchase an Elementals Massage gift card at a reduced rate. I’ve outlined the details below. (MTBR has made it amazingly easy to donate items! Smart, right? They’re really good at this.) And remember, MTBR is a 501-c3 so all physical donations are tax deductible.
In addition to physical donations, you can also volunteer your time. The dogs waiting to be adopted need socialization and exercise. Think about that…you spend your morning walking and playing with these beautiful babies, and in exchange, you get to save money on holiday gifts! It’s like 3 gifts in one; your friends and family get a massage, you save money, and you get to play with Boxers. WIN!
So please consider helping a worthy organization, as well as treating yourself.
